My God stuff thinkings

My 7yr old girl was laying on my bed with me - we were both ill with a nasty bug and confined to my bedroom by my built-in doctor/husband.

Feeling miserable and aching all over (this was day 5, and not letting up), my equally put out girl was drapped over the end corner dangling her arm in front of the stand-alone mirror.

"Ma," she said, "your mirror is late. It’s doing things a bit slower than I am.”

I often get the giggles lying down, but this was just too much. Her complete seriousness made it all the funnier.

It struck me that we do this with God as well. We, in our immaturity, from experience or age in Him, often make sweeping statements that determindly put the fault in His actions - the mirror we should be reflecting from. If we only knew Him better we would laugh at our lack of logic, and be more careful how we portray Him when we are in the sickness of sin.

We should remember our actions are in time with what is reflected, and this can remind us to show His actions only - by being stunned daily in His grace that makes us saints under His Name. How incredible is this??!! Really?! Is this real? He, with no hope of equal thanks, allowed us to be reflectors of His Godness. I haven't always grasped this, just like my girl didn't grasp the mirror concept even with it right before her eyes.

Unlike a mirror though, our actions may also be 'late'. We may do something we regret and it may reflect the lack of Him in us - at a later date.

Moral of this blog? Step in front of His full image - search for the Face of God - and you will beam only Him in current time and late.

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
