My God stuff thinkings

The power of what we say…

When writing The Book of Life – Leonard Told, I was continually confronted with the endless influence and power words have over our lives.

Words are everywhere - good and bad -  and we must fill ourselves with the ones that bring God's name the fame He needs.

They can be misspelt, wrongly placed, surrounded by grammatical errors – or be in a different language even. Words that hurt one person may be the cause of laughter to another. A word can have a different meaning depending on the context, or culture that word is used. They are behind every fluctuating emotion and expressed with unique turns that can grate or please the ear.

Songs are sung with them. Poems worship them. Words inspire life into our souls, thoughts into action and by them wisdom is articulated.

It is interesting that God used words to create everything that ever existed. We were breathed out of His mouth just as our expressions are. No wonder water marks have been found on Mars. God’s saliva!!

Words are limited. Wisdom can be articulated, yes. However, some of the deepest mysteries of God are understood without the need of words. It comes from a truth that resonates within. A truth that is as clean and fresh as the clearest ocean water that ever rose and fell against the sand. It is pure and wordless.

We can jump up and down with the ounces of insight we may receive and thoughtlessly place it before others to read who may not be able to. Those who will need glasses or an interpreter – still more are completely illiterate or still babies.

When we rephrase God’s words into our own, we have to be sure of what we do.

I have hurt some very dear loved ones in the past by words I knew to be true, but once put to them, besides causing their struggle for life – I fell myself… by my own sword.

Be certain of what words you are the founder of. Be more certain that you are not writing from an attitude that is cloaking deceit or pride. Run everything by God. Give up everything to Him and He will impassion and equip you with the correct literary skills – for when it matters.

Words are permanent influences of how others will be read. God wants yours to read well for His fame as the master author of all.

Be told God.

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
