My God stuff thinkings

I stood on the wooden stairs, overlooking the platform my husband built, with views of our stream's waterfall and cavernous natural cathedral this morning. Cold spring winds blew me about and small wild pig prints reminded me of the rawness of the natural world and also the spiritual.

I opened my bible and a verse from Job stood out. Job 36.27 "He draws up the drops of water, which distill as rain to the streams;”

This is exactly what God did for me, and all of us.

He drew me up from the muddy earth, through the compacted soil that weighed in around me, happy to suck me down. It was natural for me to fall further. I could have sunk even deeper too, but instead, God with the power of His Sun, radiated on me so I was pulled up and drawn to Him.

Even better, He left all my impurities behind! He let me touch something near Him to sooth the heat that drew me up to condense into a usable droplet; which when ready and full, naturally falls to the earth to fill the streams of God’s life-giving power coursing through this world to feed the thirsty from.

But wait! There’s more! ; )

For those so deep that the sun could not reach, He made another way out. Those drops sink so low that they become pooled into aquifers. One of many ways these can produce a ‘spring’ is when their limited space is filled to overflowing.  Has anyone else had enough of underground life?

Some of us are spring-fed, and others are fed directly from the skies (the rain, in holding tanks).

Some of us are both. I like our valley's spring water, because its purity reminds me what can come from the deep. You will also catch me out in the rain with my mouth open to the sky like any of my daughters, though.

This is why I respond well to others stories with deep dark pasts who have sprung forth. But, I also now how refreshing is the beauty of a new rain!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
