My God stuff thinkings

On visiting the famous beach scene at Cathedral Cove of the Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, my bold little 3yr old boy made a Chinese tourist laugh so wholeheartedly, I just had to catch the rest of their conversation.

The elderly chuckling man spoke to my wee Ryan in his beautiful native language and I found that Ryan’s answer was the cause of the fun. He was repeating the sounds of the language in rapid indecipherable style, thinking he was playing a game with his newfound friend! Ryan thought the Chinese man was teasing with him.

This is perhaps how too many hear Christianity… and why so many leave.

Our talk is beautiful to the ear to some, and a game to join in on for others. It becomes pleasant to imitate the sounds even. However, sadly the language is not understood. The meaning behind the words is not grasped and eventually all games come to a close with a winner and a loser.

The Holy Spirit has not unstopped the ears of those who do not wish to truly believe and immerse (as in baptism and mind, body and soul immersion) into the things of God.

It also depends on your place of origin as to your ability to speak the language. Remember the word ‘Shibboleth’ from the bible? Imagine being tested on your life, by your ability to correctly pronounce a name. If it is common to your heart and your place of belonging, you will be able to read and pronounce the language clearly for others to hear.  Shibboleth.

Know the author that is using you to write out the most incredible story of all time. I can’t help myself… ‘it is a story that must be Told.’

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
