My God stuff thinkings

Perhaps one difference between the religious and the Spirit-filled Christian is that religious individuals often declare to be in the search for their salvation. The other type has found the object of their search in not only the name and stand of Jesus, but their salvation is still content with Him being in His Father’s house.

Think of Luke 2:41-52. Mary and Joseph had Jesus in their lives. He was twelve and had visited the temple. He had come.

They began their journey home. However, ‘thinking He was in their company they travelled on for a day’, then first searched for Jesus amongst ‘relatives and friends’. That was the wrong place to search for the Son of God.

In complete 180 degree manner, they returned to search for Him everywhere for another three days. Finally they found Him and in astonishment asked Jesus why He would treat them in such a way.

His answer is magnificent! “Why were you searching for me? Didn’t you know I had to be in my Father’s house?” But they did not understand what he was saying to them.

This is so familiar to me and my past ‘search’ for God. He was there all the time and I went on without Him, thinking He was still with me. That is when I walked into all sorts of trouble. Quickly I looked for Him everywhere I could, only to find Him in the one place He should be. In His Father’s house, and sitting within God’s ‘temple courts’ – us, and among those who teach us, ‘listening and asking them questions’. Correcting us and intervening for our lives.

Our salvation has been found! Let the party begin!!

This reminds me of the verse that says we are to be in the triumphant battle march. Triumphant because the victory is assured though the war is not yet over. Unbelievable huh?  Get this knowledge into your heads and watch it work out of your heart and actions.

Seep in Him.

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
