I was unknowingly pregnant with my oldest son, regaining strength daily from breaking away from an abusive relationship.
My father’s birthday was near and I needed him to know I loved him dearly, especially after all the hurt I had caused.
God reminded me I could sketch. I decided to draw dad a picture and put all my love and feeling into it.
I sat down at the city flat’s table and over a few days drew the photographed picture of a cat. This cat was special to me. She became
my memory of good times—and a hope of forgiveness. She reminded me of beauty when I could not see it. God used this cat to sooth my heart and give me a direction for a time.
This cat built my self-esteem only days before God knew I would need
it more than any other time in my life. She reminded me of God’s skill.
I loved her every pencil stroke. Dad gifted it back to me one day and kept a photocopy. She hangs above my fridge now.
I was 19 years old, and about to become a solo
mother.
IT IS INCONCEIVABLE HOW GOD WILL ALTER THE COURSE OF A LIFE!!!!!
