My husband and I just came back from our end of year work function. It was held at a beautiful little winery (lost on us as neither of us drink – I am too addiction-prone
), and the food and setting was absolutely lovely!
In particular, I loved the garden where I sat, as growing at my feet lay thousands of tiny blue flowers on a ground-cover shrub. It is the kind of shrub that I need around my
house, because of is weed smothering abilities.
On driving home under the bright stars, I realized it is not just our house that is our home—the whole earth is really our home for now, regardless of how foreign we will feel at times.
We can, and must, bloom in season as ground cover under the Master Gardener’s care. He planted us in His garden, and sometimes repositions or cuts us back for regrowth, so that His foresight can prevent the weeds from taking over.
If
we do our job well, we will be part of one of the most stunning landscapes of all time—the radiant bride of Jesus Christ!!
Grow well in the Word in which we are rooted, and through which we will cover much ground and cause awe and
pleasure toward the Gardener from all who see us!!
