My God stuff thinkings

It has been the funniest thing to watch my manuscript be edited! Each chapter that comes back has portions of sentence restructuring that makes me laugh, and cringe, at what I had written.

The best comment that my editor wrote was regarding this sentence.

‘The four corners of my mind, still within my head, were being pulled north, south, east and west to encompass an eternity of insight.’

Comment: I presume you mean this metaphorically, so there is no need to stress the physical reality that his mind is still in his head.  It just gives rise to images that it might have fallen out!

It was late at night when I reviewed this, and I got the giggles bad – as I do at times!

Thank God for editors! It is something He must have had foresight on regarding us all. He put others around us to remind us that sometimes we say the silliest things, even if the intention is good.

My summer holiday with our family has been very relaxing. Almost too relaxing – the kids are getting restless, as we are holidaying at home as usual. I mean, why leave, when we are the holiday destination for New Zealand?!? Cool

In three weeks (or less) my manuscript will be ready to send to Westbow, who are fully paid up and ready to work. I feel like the end of a strange era is coming, and yet I know this is just the beginning. I will miss this time. But I will also enjoy having the books in my hand, and travelling around the North Island to bookstores!

We are also planning a launch here at our library, and local bookstores.

I am working on the sketched images at the moment, though part of me wants to paint again - maybe when I am finished. How can anyone ever know what surprises lay in store, for one year of your life???!!!

GOD IS INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As part of our launch, we will run an Antislavery event (A21 Campaign), to raise awareness. As we sort through the resources provided, I am learning a lot more about being an abolitionist. What a role we each can take! We can all do something - it doesn’t matter how little!

I go to sleep, often, thinking of how a child will be rescued from a life of horror, through our efforts – hopefully more than one! A real life will have the chance to have a real life!!!!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
