My God stuff thinkings

On Christmas day (of all days) some dearly-loved extended family sat my husband and I down to share with us the merits of the Vitamix.

I had never heard of a Vitamix before.

Its benefits ranged from pulverizing meat, to any whole vegetable, fruit, or nut, into a smoothie of choice, at such an alarming speed it would take 3-5 minutes to boil a soup from the sheer friction! In short, we discovered we could hardly live without it, and in fact, must have been barely alive before it. My husband was even conned into watching YouTube clips on this ‘blenders’ capability.

I could see its benefit, and appeal for both women and men!

What I found strange was the desire I felt inside for this machine, when moments before I had not known of its existence. Even stranger was the way I was convinced, in such a short time, through pure unreserved passion for this product on the seller’s part—and they had not even experienced the Vitamix for themselves yet, but were waiting for theirs to arrive from Australia in a month’s time!

Finally having a moment to review this beast of a machine for myself, I came across an article which summed up my experience perfectly. It was called ‘The Cult of the Vitamix’.

It described how the phenomenal growth of this product came down to simple word-of-mouth about its unmatchable strength and quality. Its 25 year guarantee was impressive too!

I had been evangelized into this cult! This was evangelism at its finest!!!!!

I want to ooze such passion for God, to those within my reach, that they too are wowed by His awesomeness and incomparability. It is incredible to see such reviews of Him flow effortlessly from His advocate’s mouths.

This is how His name is made great, and how the early Christians spread Christ’s name like wild fire, perhaps even before they had real experience of His power in their lives. They knew a good thing when they heard about it. They felt the half-life they lived before finding out they could get real food on board to make them strong—in vast quantities! And He came with a life time guarantee.

It is about who we make our God, and how His benefit to our life is shown! 'Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.'

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
