My God stuff thinkings

Never buy a motion-sensitive toy for a little boy about to turn 4, when he is within the same building!

Especially if he has seen it before and you know he likes it and knows what the airplane noises belong to!

I was so sneaky, too. The checkout lady was warned to hold it with utmost gingerness (gingerness is not a word, I know), and we made it all the way into the car ready to go home.

Brummm, neeooorn, neoawlllllllll.

You guessed it! I had not considered the windy trip in the car on our logging-truck roughed-up road!

I fudged my way through explanations, but he is a smart boy. Eventually, I gave up and told him he would just have to wait for the “I know it’s a plane!” until tomorrow.

The experience reminded me of God in our lives though. We take this treasure we want to share with someone, and try to keep it secret until everything is just right. But the journey of life takes us over bumps and around corners we forget will come. God is ‘shaken’ out of us, and hopefully the sound of Him in our lives is just so intriguing that conversations just start, and wishes will be fulfilled!

Someone may end up saying, “That was the gift I had been wanting all my life!”

Happy Birthday little man!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
