My God stuff thinkings

Today was a tree clearing day on our farmlet. We have 44 acres of bushy hills rolling in valleys toward the sea (setting of The Book of Told). New Zealand is still mostly native bush. Introduced plants and trees grow amongst the bush and in some cases (like the Coromandel Peninsula) the introduced wild pines take over.

Our thoughts are like trees (Dr. Caroline Leaf). Some thoughts which are introduced are good, others are not. Our natural born state is harmonious and innocent. We have choices over which thoughts we let grow and how we want our mind landscape to look.

Just like the trees on our land which are taking over the view to the sea and smothering the healthy growth of our native bush, so our mind needs clearing. The introduction of wild trees happens in an instant, but they take time to grow. We can uproot them also, but it takes determination to truly keep the tree from rebranching, and the seedlings will always need watching - and the good trees will take time to re-establish. Give them the best environment you can to grow lush and healthy. The landscape will be incredible for all to enjoy its benefits!

And you know what? Tree felling is so much family fun!!!!!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
