My God stuff thinkings

It is an endless source of entertainment and spiritual food to listen to my husband’s favorite fishing shows. I have just overheard that when the novice out-fishes the experienced fisherman, in deep-sea luring, it is because they are throwing their lure out the back of the boat and letting it drag on the bottom. This seems like common sense to the uninitiated… so why does the experienced angler put so much effort and analysis into his deep-sea sport, when it seems the novice gets the most bites in this situation?

Let me explain this awesome analogy!

The dedicated angler knows the importance of the right hook, the correct lure, the most appealing jiggle. The variables are the depth of the schools at any given time, their state of hunger and available food.

Most fish have traditionally been caught by lowering a lure above the sea-bed and using jiggling motions, which represent the natural movements of a fish. What happens out in the real depths, however, is that the fish are scavenging from the shellfish and crabs on the ground.

Their heads are down.

The fish are at their lowest, with all the pressures of the depths above them, as they feed on the scraps they find.

They cannot see the experienced fisherman’s lure bobbing above their head because their eyes are downcast.

Isn’t it beautiful?!?!

It does not matter which lure was used or if they have been taught the correct jiggle—on occasion, the throwing in of all you know will bounce across the ocean floor naturally mimicking a fish, and will be right in front of the ever-searching eyes.

God uses the novice in so many ways to reach those in the absolute depths. We throw out the lure without thinking, because it is instinct to us. God uses this method to catch those who are too sunken to look up. As long as the fisherman is in the boat, and after the fish and not the scenery, then God will use this attempt to His glory!!!!

Thank God for the inexperienced like myself! And of cause, thank Him so much more again for the experienced!!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
