My God stuff thinkings

It is so easy to say the name. Human trafficking. Modern-day slavery. It is so easy to give a title to an issue, and set it over there on the table laden with world issues. Human trafficking is just one of many moral problems we can easily turn our face from. Most readers of this would never have seen even an inkling of the reality of human slavery. I hardly know it. I read about examples of terrible situations, and I read some of the hope that is offered through responsive individuals forming groups such as A21 Campaign. The statistics run through my mind, but I cannot place them with my seen reality. To me, in New Zealand, slavery is barely considered. We have recent convictions of human traffickers in the news for the first time in NZ’s history – but soon it is forgotten and we move on to the more pressing issues, like Ebola fear.

Fear is learnt. We are not wired to fear – we are wired for love. In the mental presence of our Maker, basking in the knowledge and wisdom his Spirit gives, how can we fear? How can we panic about the risk to our lives and the lives of our loved ones? We actually cannot. It is impossible to remain in fear when we are filled with love. We can rise above the fears of life and live on a different plane. Be strong. Know that if you are carrying out God's daily will, then he will guard you. He will only let you die if it is for a greater purpose, and you can rejoice in that. You might be the one called to shine him on your death bed, and amaze those around you. We are called to be different - called to live in love.

Perfect love casts out fear. Perfect love comes from looking only at God, and letting the Holy Spirit have free reign to alter out thought life. Perfect love provides a constant reminder that our stories are mere words – words we choose the meaning to; words that our Author had an original intent for.

In God’s presence we do not have to panic over our future or of being in the path of someone carrying Ebola, for example. We can be free of this fear.

We cannot become paralyzed by a tool that Satan has used throughout history – we know better. We have far more important things to be doing, such as making very sure that human trafficking is not considered as just a title to an issue that is largely unseen. We have a job to do. Our neighborhoods can be educated and laws tightened. Our children, and the children of those who are trapped in a life situation that propels them into harm’s way, need protecting. Everyone has the right to freedom. Everyone has the right to choose how their body will be used.

Human trafficking is an issue that is incredibly deep, with multi-faceted appearances. But its core has the same evil, and we must have the same resolve – each individual’s freedom.

Put fear where it belongs – back in the heart of Satan. Face God. Look at the places his eyes and heart direct us. We are here for one purpose – to be his body, an image of him, which works out his purposes for the people he loves with a love we simply cannot imagine. Ask for a heart that recognizes and loves God’s own workmanship – people made in his own image – every person. We literally do not have time to love ourselves first. We have only so many years gifted, and they were all designed for the glory of our King.

Step into that purpose, and soak in God’s perspective-giving Spirit – he will give you desires and love where there might not be any yet.

When you know the unbridled joy of real freedom, you want to unlock as many other doors as you can!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
