My God stuff thinkings

What a magic God we serve! I just found out today that one of New Zealand’s larger gangs had sent two top members to buy the centrally located ex-men’s club. When the news spread among the locals of our town, some friends of ours along with a large group of other men from another church walked the perimeter of the property one night praying against Satan’s influence. Specifically, and unknown to me or my husband, they prayer a Christian would buy it!

How humbled am I? How lifted up also!! I knew God was in the sale from the beginning because my heart kept needing Him more than ever and I had to agonise with pleasure over His guidance and control here. Now to hear this news has been such a blessing!

So many community members have approached me in regards to how the community can be helped with this building. It is exciting times. I am listening to all ideas with deep prayer and knowing God will lead here too. Whether this becomes accommodation for those who need it, headquarters for human-trafficking initiatives, a community post supported by all the churches holding the foodbank and counselling rooms, a youth hang-out with the massive pool table and room just for them, or all of the above!! The café/restaurant will reopen soon and the chosen leasees I today learn have frequented a friends church for a number of months last year. Who knows how God is calling them and their family.

I want to call the building The Lamp. We will erect a large lamp outside that will shine 24/7 and it reminds me that God’s Word is my lamp. I love the fact that when the building was first built it was a man of God who built it. He was a Lamp to this community. In the miner’s days they would smash the bottom off empty beer bottles and place candles inside up through the mouth so the glass frame would shelter the flame from the wind. This is so special because I can picture that is how God works in us. He takes the bottom out from under us and lets us drain out whatever vices we cling to, then He enters and shines in our broken bodies!!!!! A light for others to see!!

Kylie, I would be delighted to have my name as a side character in your next book. I am telling anyone who will listen that they too must read The Book of Told.

For the first time in many years I have found a book that I didn't want to put down. I wanted to just continue reading to find out where the story was going.
